In the beginning was the idea

Often Christian and I are asked how we came to create Wooltasia. It's actually quite simple. When I was pregnant with our daughter in 2014, I rediscovered the crochet. Even as a child of 10 or 11, I tried to crochet doll scarves and caps, which were more bad than good. I think everyone still knows his beginnings 😄

Through a good friend, I first came into contact with Facebook groups. I can tell you, I was very impressed, I sucked up the ideas like a sponge sucks up water, my to-do list with projects became longer by the hour (no need to think I ever worked off the entire list…) One of those ideas was pixel blankets. I was so intrigued that I asked Christian if he could write a program with which I could make such blankets myself. What followed were several months of programming work by Christian, until the first prototype, which looked quite different from the app today, but Wooltasia was born.
